Description

Fempro 2.5 mg (Letrozole tablets) is used to treat breast cancer in women after menopause – that is, women who no longer have periods, either naturally due to age or after surgery or chemotherapy. Fempro 2.5 mg (letrozole tablets) is available in tablets containing 2.5 mg of the active substance letrozole. Letrozole belongs to the family of drugs called aromatase inhibitors. They are also called “antioestrogens” because they act by reducing the production of estrogen in your body. Estrogen stimulates the growth of certain types of breast cancer. These cancers are called estrogen-dependent. Reducing estrogen production can help keep cancer from growing. This may be the first time you take an “antioestrogen”, such as Fempro 2.5 mg (Letrozole tablets), or you may have taken another “antioestrogen”, such as tamoxifen in the past.

Ask your doctor if you have any questions about why Fempro 2.5 mg (Letrozole tablets) was prescribed for you. Your doctor may recommend Fempro 2.5 mg (Letrozole tablets) for another reason.

Fempro 2.5 mg Dosage and Administration Tablets

Follow the directions given to you by your doctor and attentive pharmacist.

The usual dose is one Fempro 2.5 mg (Letrozole tablets) per day. Swallow a pill with a glass of water or other liquid. If your stomach is upset after taking the pill, take it with a meal or after a snack.

Your doctor will check your progress to make sure the medicine is working and will decide how long your treatment should last.

If you forget to take it, if it is almost time for your next dose (for example, at 2 or 3 hours), skip the dose you missed and take the next dose when you are called. Otherwise, take the dose as soon as you remember, and then return to take your pills as usual. Do not take a double dose to make up for the one you missed.
